LIMA Rolling Stock coupler convertion

 

The old LIMA coupler.
This is how it looks upside down
Remove the coupler. In some cases the coupler is in the truck so you have to cut it off.
Once removed.
Use a motor tool to remove the plastic so the kadee coupler can fit. It depends on each case the portion you have to remove.
 
 
Put some crazy glue or epoxy glue.
Place the assembled kadee coupler. Be carefull it is in the middle.
Here I'm checking for the coupler to be exactly in the middle
It's seems in the middle
You have to use the height gauge from kadee to check if the coupler is in the standard size. It's very important beacuse if there is an offset the rolling stock will uncouple when going downhill or uphill or anytime in the layout.
